M-F 7:30 am to 5:30 pm

If you have never been to a transmission shop, the unknowns can feel bigger than the repair. The shop's own words set the tone: "We will help you as quickly and efficiently as possible so that you can get back on the road and back to the business of your life." Here is how a visit usually goes, in the order you will meet it.

## The first call

### What happens when I call?

Call (775) 829-1333 Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The shop asks about your vehicle and what it is doing, and tells you how to proceed.

### What should I have ready?

The year, make, model and engine, the mileage, and a short description of the problem. The [call checklist](https://a1transmissionrenonv.com/call/) has the list.

### Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are suggested and walk-ins are welcome during business hours. See [appointments and walk-ins](https://a1transmissionrenonv.com/faq/appointments-and-walk-ins/).

## At the shop

### What happens when I arrive?

You describe the problem to the person at the counter at 670 East Grove Street, and the vehicle is looked at. The [hours and location page](https://a1transmissionrenonv.com/faq/hours-and-location/) shows how to find the shop.

### How is the vehicle diagnosed?

With questions, a look at the fluid, a scan for codes and a road test. See [how diagnosis works](https://a1transmissionrenonv.com/faq/diagnosis/).

### Who works on my vehicle?

The shop says: "Each of our mechanics is fully certified and licensed to repair your car, truck or SUV."

## The explanation and the decision

### Will I be told what is wrong in plain words?

Yes. The shop explains what it found, what the options are and whether the repair is small or large.

### Will I be pushed into extra work?

The shop's promise reads: "We will never try to sell you a service you don't need."

### How long will it take and what will it cost?

That depends on the vehicle, the parts and what the diagnosis finds. Call and ask; the shop will tell you for your vehicle.

## When the work is done

### How do I pay?

Visa, Mastercard and cash are accepted; see [payment](https://a1transmissionrenonv.com/faq/payment/).

### Is there a warranty?

Ask about warranty coverage when you call. The shop will tell you what applies to your repair.
