Accessibility Statement
Effective: October 18, 2026

A-1 Transmission Inc ("A-1 Transmission," "we," "us" or "our") wants this website (the "Site") to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, and wants every driver to be able to get the information and help they need. This Accessibility Statement describes the standard we aim to meet, the measures we have taken, the tools available on the Site, the limitations we know about, and how to get help or tell us about a problem. If you need help now, call us at (775) 829-1333. We are open Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and closed Saturday and Sunday.
1. Our commitment
Finding out what your vehicle may need, where we are and when we are open should not depend on how well you can see a screen, use a mouse or read small print. We aim to design and maintain the Site so that people who are blind or have low vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, who have mobility or dexterity limitations, or who have cognitive, learning or neurological disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate and use it. Whatever the Site can or cannot do, our team can help you by telephone or in person at the shop.
2. Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG defines how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and is organized around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
3. Conformance status
We aim for the Site to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we are working toward full conformance for the content we control. Some parts of the content may not fully conform to the standard. The parts most likely not to conform are content provided by third parties and the limitations described in Section 10. We correct issues as we learn about them.
This status is based on our own evaluation, described in Section 9. It is not a certification by any third party.
4. Measures we have taken
The Site was built with accessibility in mind. The measures we have taken include the following.
Structure and navigation: semantic HTML, so that headings, lists, buttons, links and tables are identified correctly to browsers and assistive technologies; page landmarks such as the header, navigation, main content and footer; a "Skip to content" link at the start of every page; a logical heading structure on each page; and a site map page that lists the pages of the Site in plain text links.
Keyboard access and focus: menus that work with a keyboard, with buttons that open and close each dropdown and announce whether it is expanded; the Escape key closes open menus and the hours panel; and a visible focus indicator, so that keyboard users can see which link or button is selected.
Status messages: results from the symptom checker, the code list and the drive-time lookup are announced to screen readers through ARIA live regions, and the hours panel is announced as a dialog.
Images, tables, charts, color and layout: text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images; data tables with headers, and a data table available alongside charts so that the numbers are available as text; tables that restack into labeled rows on small screens; star ratings on reviews that are announced as text; color contrast between text and backgrounds designed to meet WCAG AA; and a responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets and desktops and supports browser zoom.
Motion: the Site respects your device's reduced-motion setting, which turns off smooth scrolling, animations and transitions.
Text versions and fonts: a plain-text version of each page that presents the same content without the layout, images or scripts, and short text summaries of the Site for search and answer services. Our address, telephone number and hours appear as text on the Site, in addition to the map. The Site's typefaces are served from our own server.
- Semantic HTML, landmarks and a "Skip to content" link on every page.
- Keyboard-operable menus, tools and toolbar, with a visible focus indicator.
- Alt text, data tables under charts and text-based prices and hours.
- Reduced-motion support and a responsive layout that works with browser zoom.
5. The accessibility toolbar
The Site includes an accessibility toolbar, available from the accessibility button in the lower left corner of every page. It lets you adjust how the Site looks and behaves to suit your needs. Its features include:
Your settings stay in your browser. The settings you choose are saved only in your browser's local storage (under keys that begin with a1t_), so they apply on other pages and later visits in the same browser. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's storage resets them. Our Privacy Policy explains browser storage.
Your own tools come first. The accessibility toolbar is an optional convenience. It does not replace the accessibility built into the Site, and you do not need it to use the Site. The Site is designed to work with the tools you already use, such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, browser zoom and operating-system display settings.
- Text size adjustment.
- Contrast options, including high contrast.
- Line height, letter spacing and word spacing adjustment.
- A readable font option.
- Reduced motion, which stops animations.
- A larger cursor option.
- Color-blind options.
- A reset button that returns every setting to its default.
6. Using the Site with a keyboard
You can use the Site without a mouse. Common keys include:
- Tab moves forward through links, buttons and other controls, and Shift+Tab moves backward.
- Enter activates a link or button, and the Space bar activates buttons.
- The button next to each menu item opens and closes its submenu.
- Escape closes an open menu or the hours panel.
- In the hours panel, Tab and Shift+Tab move through its buttons and stay inside the panel until you close it.
- The "Skip to content" link, at the start of each page, moves you past the menu to the main content.
7. Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
The Site is designed to be compatible with current versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari on desktop and mobile devices, and with common screen readers used with those browsers. If a combination of browser and assistive technology does not work well with the Site, please tell us.
8. Technologies the Site relies on
The accessibility of the Site relies on the following technologies working with your web browser and any assistive technologies installed on your device: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA and SVG, for charts. The core content of each page is delivered as HTML, so the text is available even if scripts do not run. Some interactive features, such as the menus, the symptom checker, the accessibility toolbar and the drive-time lookup, require JavaScript. If a feature does not work for you, you can call us instead.
9. How we assess accessibility
Accessibility of the Site is assessed through self-evaluation by our web development service provider during development, including testing with a keyboard and with screen readers on the menus, the tools and the toolbar. We have not commissioned a formal audit by an independent third party. As the Site changes, we review new and updated content with accessibility in mind and correct issues as we find them or as visitors report them.
10. Known limitations and alternatives
Despite our efforts, some parts of the Site may not be fully accessible. The limitations we know about, and the alternatives available, are:
- Google Maps. Directions links open Google Maps, and an optional map loads only when you click "Show the map." Google Maps content may be difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader. Our address, 670 East Grove Street, Reno, NV 89502, and our hours are on the Site as text, and we can give you directions by telephone at (775) 829-1333.
- Charts. Charts are drawn as images with a short text description; the full numbers are in the table with each chart.
- Third-party pages. Google Maps, review pages, government agencies and other linked websites are controlled by those organizations, and we cannot guarantee their accessibility.
- Public data tables. Tables that reproduce public data, for example from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, follow the layout of their sources and may be long. We can read figures to you by telephone.
11. Third-party content
Some content and features on the Site are provided by third parties, including Google Maps and the review pages and other websites we link to. We configure these tools as accessibly as we can, but we do not control how they are built and cannot guarantee their conformance. If a third-party component prevents you from using the Site, please tell us and we will work with you to provide the information another way.
12. Other ways to get information and help
If any information on the Site is not accessible to you, we will work with you to provide it another way, for example by phone. For example, we can:
At the shop, please let our team know if you or a companion needs help getting in or around the building, seating, more time, or information read aloud or explained another way. Tell us what you need when you call, and we will do our best to meet your request.
- Answer your questions over the telephone at (775) 829-1333 during business hours, including our address, our hours and how to get to the shop.
- Talk through what to expect when you bring in a vehicle, so that you do not need to use the Site.
- Help you in person at the shop during business hours.
13. Feedback and requests for help
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Site. If you encounter a barrier, have trouble using any part of the Site or have a suggestion, please contact us:
What to include. To help us understand and fix the problem, please tell us the address (URL) of the page, what you were trying to do, the problem you had and, if you are comfortable sharing it, the browser, device and assistive technology you were using, and how you would like us to respond. You do not need to provide all of this to get help.
Response. We take accessibility feedback seriously and will work with you to provide the information another way, for example by phone. If you need information right away, please call us during business hours. You can also visit our contact page for our address and hours.

14. Legal framework
Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Nevada law, including NRS 651.070, address equal access to places of public accommodation. We refer to WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard that guides our efforts on the Site. This Statement describes our goals and practices. It is not a legal opinion about what any law requires and does not create contractual obligations. Nothing in it limits any right you have under applicable law.
15. Ongoing effort and review of this Statement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. Websites, technologies and standards change. We review the Site as it changes, correct issues as we find them or as they are reported, and update this Statement when our practices or the Site change. This Statement was last reviewed and updated on the effective date shown at the top of this page. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
