The six bays at 670 East Grove Street
What to expect at the shop
Expect a phone call or a walk-in during business hours, a diagnosis, and a plain explanation of what your vehicle needs before any work. A-1 Transmission has served Reno drivers since 1968 under the motto "Quality Service. Honest Mechanics."
Closed now. Opens Monday at 7:30 am.
If you have never been to a transmission shop, the unknowns can feel bigger than the repair. The shop's own words set the tone: "We will help you as quickly and efficiently as possible so that you can get back on the road and back to the business of your life." Here is how a visit usually goes, in the order you will meet it.
The first call

The year, make, model and engine, the mileage, and a short description of the problem. The call checklist has the list.
Do I need an appointment?

The explanation and the decision
Will I be told what is wrong in plain words?
Yes. The shop explains what it found, what the options are and whether the repair is small or large.
Will I be pushed into extra work?
The shop's promise reads: "We will never try to sell you a service you don't need."
How long will it take and what will it cost?
That depends on the vehicle, the parts and what the diagnosis finds. Call and ask; the shop will tell you for your vehicle.
